1. Manual workflows
  2. Update and Publish

This is the manual version of the release workflow. In the ideal setup, your coding agent handles push and publish for you after Agent-First Onboarding.

Push local updates

docsalot docs push --documentation-id <documentation-id> --dir docsalot-docs --message "Update onboarding docs"

This creates a new docs version in Docsalot.

Publish updates

Publish latest version:

docsalot docs publish --documentation-id <documentation-id>

Or publish a specific version:

docsalot docs publish --documentation-id <documentation-id> --version <n>

Safe release routine

  1. Preview locally before pushing.
  2. Push with a clear version message.
  3. Publish intentionally (latest or explicit version).
  4. Validate production docs URL after publish.

Common operator mistakes

  • Publishing the wrong documentation-id.
  • Forgetting to pull before making large edits.
  • Using vague push messages that make rollback decisions harder.

See Troubleshooting for recovery guidance.
